20th Iranian Conference on Optics and Photonics, and 8th Iranian Conference on Photonics Engineering and Technology were held on 28-30 January 2014 at Shiraz University of Technology (SUTech).
The conference began with opening remarks by the Chancellor of SUTech. Then Professor Vahid Ahmadi, Research Deputy of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, delivered his speech regarding ministry expectations and agenda for the future prospects of research in optics and photonics technology.
Up to 700 papers submitted to the conference and after reviewing process 456 papers accepted for oral and poster presentation. The event brought together 700 participates and researchers from Iran universities, along with organizing eight public lectures, three workshops, and two expert roundtable, which provided an excellent opportunity for networking and sharing experiences in the application of optics, photonics, and engineering.
