The Nanocomposite/composite & Advanced Materials Technology Lab (NanoTech), launched in 2013, conducts research on the fabrication, testing, modeling, analysis, and investigation of mechanical, material and physical properties of polymer nanocomposites/composites, advanced materials and related structures. On this basis, by combining the exceptional properties of nano-fillers with the composite materials, the new advanced materials possess superior physical and mechanical properties with applications in aerospace, automotive, marine and energy sectors. The lab provides support for related research projects and also for the course of advanced composite materials. NanoTech aims to bridge the considerable gap between the academic education and the industry orientation.
The focus of the research efforts at NanoTech is directed toward two broad goals: experimental and computational mechanics of nanocomposite/composite materials and nanostructures.
The NanoTech of MAE is coordinated by Prof. AliReza Setoodeh.
