On 17 May 2019 a team from Shiraz University of Technology visited Southern Technical University in Basrah. In this visit, the chancellors, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Alavianmehr and Dr. Rabee Hashem Thejel, signed an agreement between the two universities so that Shiraz University of Technology presents a summer training courses for the students of Southern Technical University.
